In honor of his memory, the Networker will be presenting a new award this year, in celebration of that therapist who best encapsulates Rich's writerly legacy. Beginning with an interview published in the Networker in 1979 and culminating in 2017, when he wrote a piece on the elemental principles of structural family therapy at the age of 95, Minuchin continued to articulate his particular vision of both clinical change and social justice. His passion for editing and storytelling-in addition to his dedication to the field-shaped the magazine into what it is today and has connected therapists worldwide for decades. As the founding editor of the Networker, Rich provided not just a platform for psychotherapy's established voices and rising stars, but a community. She will be presented with the Award during a Special Evening Event at this year’s Psychotherapy Networker Symposium. In recognition of those who make such extraordinary contributions, the Psychotherapy Networker Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a person or persons whose life’s work has had such an impact on our understanding of psychotherapy, on the way psychotherapists practice their craft, and on the lives of the people who are served by mental health professionals around the world.
